Modern Water & Earth Day 2022

April 22nd is the anniversary of the birth of Earth Day in 1970. This modern environmental movement was born through the frustration of the American public with the devastation and destruction of lakes, oceans and wildlife from massive oil spills. Social engagement grew as the impact of climate change became more obvious.

Momentum grew in the 70’s and 80’s, and in the 90’s Earth Day went international. The movement became a global annual event, with volunteers and sponsors in more than 190 countries worldwide by 2022.

Today Earth Day is widely recognized as the largest secular global observance in the world. The fight for a clean environment to protect our planet has increased in its urgency as climate change is more apparent every day.

Civil and social change drives demand for governments and industry to follow suit. Businesses are no longer happy to continue with poor environmental practices as cancel-culture increases the pressure to “know better – do better”. Instead, business and industry leaders are searching for ways to work towards reducing carbon-footprints, increasing the use of recyclable materials, conserving water, reducing water pollution and much more.

Modern Water is immensely proud that its technology drives safety for the environment and our population, from our Microtox water monitoring equipment and reagents through to our AMBC membrane treatments. Working with our partners and distributors over four continents Modern Water aims to reduce water treatment requirements and to maximize clean water reuse.

Industries and governments must work together to reduce pollution, increase sustainability and introduce environmentally-friendly practices across the board. Modern Water plays a vital role in this now and will continue to drive the protection and conservation of water for decades to come.

We can make a difference in every industry, but that won’t happen until we all work together to #InvestInOurPlanet. Join EARTHDAY.ORG and learn all the ways you can get involved.
