The last 24 months have seen both a jump in demand for Modern Water’s Microtox monitoring equipment and reagents and the development of the Mobile Monitoring Unit, with its on and off-site monitoring capabilities and real-time results. Due to this growth, Modern Water is delighted to announce its expansion with the acquisition of a new manufacturing and logistics centre in Charleville, Co Cork, Ireland.
The new centre covers 6,000 square meters and will support assembly, logistics, manufacturing and distribution of Modern Water products, in combination with the Deepverge Technology Centre of Excellence in Fermoy, Cork and the Modern Water laboratories in York UK – creating an axis of product development within the UK & EU.

The creation of this new European base ensures manufacturing of Modern Water’s exclusive Microtox reagents is guaranteed and creates a reduction in distribution costs while raising competitiveness within the monitoring market.
The acquisition of the new European base also strengthens the core sales and product development teams within Modern Water. The mobile monitoring unit was designed and assembled at the Charleville premises and will continue to be the focal point of assembly going forward. The sales team now covers a wider range of industries and territories, with former Apple employee Cathal Murphy taking control of the Middle East.
