The Modern Water EU & UK Business Development Team travelled to Birmingham, UK earlier this month to attend, exhibit and present at the European Wastewater Management Conference & Exhibition (https://ewwmconference.com/).

The annual two day conference and exhibition saw attendees return in-person, and all agreed on the benefits of face-to-face networking post-pandemic.
The team displayed the Microtox LX and Microtox FX at the Modern Water exhibition booth in the main hall, giving attendees the opportunity to hold, examine and discuss the instruments’ uses with Jon Shepherd, Tony Ryan and Paul Ryan,  along with the benefits of using genuine Microtox reagents.

Outside the venue, Tony gave attendees a tour of Modern Water’s latest service offering – the Mobile Monitoring Unit. The van – a mobile laboratory – is equipped with the latest Microtox equipment and reagents ensuring rapid, accurate, real-time, on-site data can be made available anywhere, anytime.

Jon and Paul also presented during the conference, on the topic “Wastewater surveillance for pathogen risk in 2022 and beyond” which was very well received by attendees, with some interesting questions posed from the floor. Future projects and collaborations were discussed with emphasis on AI technology and increasing demand for real-time data processing.

Jon was delighted to chair a session entitled “AMP8 Design Challenges”, the regulated future asset management plan for the UK water industry, on the second day of the event, with a panel to discuss their opinions.

Our next event will see the team attend World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden with our partners Microsaic. More information to follow shortly.
